The Judean Almanac is a journal about living closer to the land of Israel from the middle of Jerusalem—through food, farmers, seasonality, household practice, family, and the spiritual life of place.
It is written and published by Shimi Hermon, founder of The Judean Homestead.
The Almanac and the Homestead
The Judean Homestead makes bone broth in Jerusalem. The Almanac is its publication—a slower, quieter place to think out loud about the same subjects the broth grows out of: where food comes from, who raises it, and what it means to keep a household in this city. The two share a world and a maker; the Almanac is not a storefront, and it does not try to sell you anything.
How often it comes
New writing arrives roughly once or twice a month. Entries come in three weights: longer essays, shorter practical notes you can act on, and brief field notes—one thing seen, written down before it evaporates.
